Véronique da Silva received her education and most of her professional experience in Montréal, Québec. In addition to her education, Véronique assisted eastern North America's best commercial photographers (from Montréal to Miami) for several years. Véronique da Silva Photography has been in operation for over 10 years, 4 of which have been in Victoria.
Véronique is a natural light photographer who has been described as genuine, joyful and candid. She strives to capture the very essence of her subjects. With her unique sense of photojournalistic style and editorial flair, she produces timeless images with spirit, honesty and beauty. While she prefers shooting on location using natural light, Véronique also works in a studio setting.
The two pieces on display were taken during summer 2009 at Woodwynn Farms (creatinghomefulness.org). Véronique is involved in documenting the progress of the farm as it undergoes a major facelift to become the biggest organic therapeutic working farm on Vancouver island. Woodwynn's mandate is to "create homefulness by providing a safe place to live, nourishing food, meaningful work, hands-on instruction in vocational and life skills, a sense of belonging, hope and purpose". $150 from the sale of each of the frames will be donated directly to Woodwynn Farms (donation receipt will be provided).
