Terry is a self-described "photo-geek" & has long had a passion for the technical processes of digital imaging. Over the past 15 years he has pursued a career pushing the limits of photo printing technology.
Terry started working with Photoshop in 1995, beginning his career in photographic labwork in 1996. Realizing that he had found his niche, he studied photography for 2 years at the Langara Professional Photo Imaging Program. In 2001 he came to Victoria for a vacation, and fell in love with the city. Shortly after moving he started the imaging lab at Prism Photo, beginning the task of moving the consumer photo-lab into the digital age. In the 8 years he spent at at Prism Terry had some amazing success stories, most notably handling the entire printing of the short-lived BC Experience at the Crystal Gardens. In 2008, Terry left to pursue his own vision and started Loupe Imaging, where he focuses on top-notch photo, fine art, and commercial printing.
When not slaving away in the shop, Terry teaches the 2nd year "Digital Darkroom" (Photoshop), and 1st year "Inkjet Printing" course at the Western Academy of Photography.
Photographically Terry enjoys shooting dark, moody images, and mainly shoots landscapes and abstract macro subjects. Panorama stitching is a particular passion - combining multiple frames to create exceptionally sharp images, or to cover extremely wide fields of view. This technique is so successful that Terry shoots everything with a compact Canon A650is, a move he attributes as much to laziness as anything else... "If i had to lug around a full size camera with lenses I'd NEVER manage to take any photos..."
